Piercing Policies - Age & Identification Requirements

We abide by the NSW legal piercing age requirements for all piercings performed in our studio. 

We have a responsibility to keep our community safe and will follow these legal requirements at all times.

We have the responsibility to provide a safe and clean environment for our clients at all times, and strictly follow all infection control practises at all times.

We have the right to refuse to perform any piercing - at any time.

We will endeavour to ensure that you understand why we may refuse to perform a certain piercing at any time. 

It is the client’s responsibility to research our policies prior to booking an appointment as we can not always determine who the appointment is being made for, or their age, unless we are told beforehand.

It is the client's responsibility to ensure that they bring the required and correct identification requirements to their appointment.

Our appointments run at 15 minute intervals (unless a larger session has been booked for multiple piercings).

If a significant amount of the Piercers time has been wasted during an appointment for any reason, the client will be charged accordingly.

CHILDREN'S EAR PIERCING (ages 1 - 13)

• The parent/legal guardian must provide a government issued form of photo identification (license/photo card/passport) AND a medicare/concession/health care card with both THEIR name AND the child’s name on it. 
• We do not perform piercings on children under 12 months of age. 
• This is due to the development/growth of ear anatomy, and higher danger to a small child if an infection is developed during healing. 
• This is not a judgement call, this is our moral responsibility to only provide safe piercings within our studio.
• We strongly recommend waiting to have a child’s ears pierced until the child asks for it themself and can understand and follow the aftercare instructions. This results in a far superior piercing experience and healing process for everyone.
• Our preference is ALWAYS to use needles for any piercing. We require parents to apply numbing cream to the child’s ears (following advise from the pharmacist and numbing cream manufacturers instructions to a tee).
• Needle piercings will not be performed on children under 13 years of age without this step being adhered to, regardless of how you think your child will handle the procedure.
• If a child has stated they don’t want the piercing to be performed, or has been evaluated as not being able to safely sit still for the procedure - it will not be performed. This decision can be made by the Piercer at ANY time during the entire piercing process.

ALL STANDARD PIERCINGS

(Not including - Nipple, Venoms, Dermal, Genital)

• We perform all standard piercings from ages 13-15, with parental consent only.
• A parent or legal guardian must be present to sign the consent form.
• The parent/guardian must provide a government issued form of photo identification (License/Photo Card/Passport etc) AND a Medicare or Concession/Health Care card with both the Parent/Guardian and the Child’s names on it.
• Clients between 13-15 must have a Birth Certificate or Student Photo I.D (with their D.O.B visible) to confirm they are 13 years of age or above.
• Clients aged 16 years and above can legally sign for themselves.
• The client must provide a government issued form of photo identification (Student Card/License/Photo Card/Passport etc).

NIPPLE + VENOM PIERCINGS

• We perform nipple piercings on clients aged 17 years and above only.
• The client must have a government issued form of photo identification that clearly states their date of birth. Under no circumstance will the piercing be performed without it.

DERMAL PIERCINGS

• We perform dermal piercings on clients who are 18 years of age and above, who have a valid form of government issued photo identification.

GENITAL PIERCINGS

• We perform genital piercings on clients aged 18 years of age and above only, who have a valid form of government issued  photo identification.
• All genital piercing clients must first book in for a consultation to ensure the anatomy is suitable for the piercing they wish to obtain.

*If you wish to discuss any of our policy further - please make an appointment to personally speak with Brooke, as she is the only staff member at our studio who you can speak further with about this due to her extensive knowledge and experience in the Body Piercing Industry.

Again, It is the client’s responsibility to bring the correct required identification to an appointment and to read our policies prior to booking an appointment, as we can not determine the age and requirements for who the appointment is being made for, unless we are clearly told beforehand.

We will not tolerate inappropriate or abusive behaviour if you do not agree with, or can not abide by, our policies - which are in place to protect both our clients AND our staff.
