Children's Ear Piercing (5-10 years old)

WE DO NOT PERFORM EAR PIERCINGS ON CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS OF AGE

We believe in informed consent, especially when making a decision to alter the body permanently. Therefore we only perform ear piercings on children who are able to understand the process and give full consent.

We are a gun-free studio (because guns are terrible and no-one should be using them) meaning we use single-use sterile needles specifically made for piercing, and high quality jewellery of verified quality, not available in gun systems.

This process takes a couple of seconds longer and the child is required to sit through one ear being pierced at a time. This does result in a safer, sterile, more accurate process which results in eliminating numerous issues that we see every day from operators still using "gun" or "hand-pressure" systems.

Weekly, we are correcting issues such as poor and inaccurate placement , hearing about gun malfunctioning resulting in a terrible experience for little ones, sending children to medical help due to overselling from gun trauma and poor quality and fitting jewellery, issues with bacteria build up on butterfly clip backings etc ETC.

This is a decision that will alter your little ones' anatomy forever and is not one we take lightly, nor believe anybody should.

Guns may have been used "back in the day" on every and anyone, BUT we have so much more knowledge and data in the piercing industry history now, which clearly shows that guns are an OUTDATED, CHEAP alternative to using tools and processes recommended by the Association of Professional Piercers.

Therefore this policy has been created for the safety and protection of both the piercer and the child.

Every piercer has the right to choose which piercings they will and will not perform. 

Every client has the right to say no to a procedure.

• We strongly recommend waiting to have a child’s ears pierced until the child asks for it themself and can understand and follow the aftercare instructions. This results in a far superior piercing experience and healing process for everyone.
• A CONSULTATION MUST BE BOOKED FOR CHILDREN AGED 5 - 10 YEARS OF AGE, PRIOR TO A PIERCING APPOINTMENT BEING MADE.
• If a child has stated they do not want the piercing to be performed or has been evaluated as not being able to safely sit still for the procedure - at any time during the appointment - no piercings will be performed and a charge may be issued to cover the piercers' given time and set up costs.
• This decision can be made by the piercer at ANY time during the entire piercing process.

The parent/legal guardian must provide:

A Government issued form of photo identification (license/photo card/passport) 

AND

A copy of the childs' birth certificate which shows both the parents name and the childs name and date of birth
